Privacy Policy
Effective July 30, 2026
Sigil is built offline-first. The short version: we do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. Everything Sigil knows lives on your device.
Data we collect
None. Sigil has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no crash-reporting services that transmit data off your device. The app does not require internet access to function.
Data stored on your device
To do its job, Sigil stores the following locally on your phone, and only there:
- The gestures (sigils) you create, and the names, colors, and commands you assign to them.
- Optional rules and flows you configure.
- Local usage statistics (for example, how often a sigil is used) shown to you inside the app.
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
Backups and exports
If you use the export feature, Sigil writes an encrypted file to the location you choose. You control that file; we never receive a copy.
Permissions
- Camera flash — used only to toggle the flashlight when you run a flashlight command. Sigil never captures images.
- Vibration — haptic feedback when a gesture matches.
- Notifications (optional) — only if you enable the notification trigger.
Permissions are requested only when the relevant feature is first used.
Purchases
Sigil Pro and premium packs are processed by Google Play Billing. Google handles the transaction and shares no payment details with us. Google’s own privacy policy applies to that processing.
Children
Sigil does not collect data from anyone, including children, and is suitable for general audiences.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date. Because the app collects nothing, changes would typically only narrow or clarify wording.
